Daily Suprises

Everyday something has happened that has suprised me one way or another. Here is the list:

Monday, March 8th, 2010 – Seeing over 25 different people out for a jog at the same time as Ryan and I. It is quite the jogging city!

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010 – A man wearing a shirt that said “How do you cure PMS? Shoot the bitch!”.  I don’t think he knew what it meant.

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010 – Four men rollerblading down a busy street.

Monday, March 15th, 2010 – A bulky man walking towards me with an “Everyone Loves an Irish Girl” t-shirt.

Sunday, March 21st, 2010 – The weather has been so hot that the eggs laid by turtles on Kasa Beach have melted in the sand.

Friday, April 9th, 2010: Some guys decided to start demolishing the house next door to my apartment at 10:00 pm!

Sunday, April 11th, 2010: Two people walking down Msimbazi Street, in Kariakoo (the Dar “ghetto”) holding hands!

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010: A man begging me for my cell phone number for over 5 minutes. I gave him a fake one, which detered him slighty, then he figured it out. The guy next to me on the bus was in stitches laughing at my cunning attempt to give a false number.

Sunday, April 20th, 2010: Waking up to discover that something had taken a massive bite out of the banana I left on our kitchen counter. Now we have a new addition to our pet collection: Rats! (We also have pigeons and gekkos).
